10 Ways to Annoy Cashiers

  1. Customers that treat us like human punching bags (you know who you are).
  2. Customers coming through our line on a Cellphone (RUDE!).
  3. Giving us crumpled money (it doesn't fit in the drawer).
  4. Not telling us you have an EBT card and then getting mad because we ran it the wrong way the first time.
  5. Waiting until the end to give us all of your coupons.
  6. Putting stuff on the conveyor belt and then leaving (the belt is NOT a shopping cart, get one).
  7. Interrupting us when we are with customers (your time is not more important than the customer's in front of us. Go to Customer Service).
  8. Customers asking where to find x item in the store (we spend our day at the front of the store and therefore have no idea most of the time).
  9. Customers putting trash on the conveyor belt (just ask us to throw it away for you).
  10. Leaving your cart in our checkout lane.
If you are guilty of any of these offences then maybe you should rethink how you have been treating the people that are working for you. People that treat cashiers nice tend to get better service and in some locations all of the store coupons without having to clip them :) Most of the time if you treat a cashier nicely we will bend over backwards to help you, but if you treat us poorly we will just want you out of our sight.
